Animation Final ~ Initial Idea

Starting out with the final project for the Animation Module I was tasked with coming up with an idea for a film, and thus an idea for a trailer. 

I began by researching about using CC Animate to create my project, watching various how-to videos, but soon moved onto idea generation. I started watching short film animations and threw about the idea of a horror film. I considered having a girl in front of a mirror being attacked from behind, but I decided this was too deep within my comfort zone and that I wanted to expand my boundaries a bit. My favourite genre has been Dystopia for a long time now, and so I eventually settled on creating a Dystopia film… Now I just had to decide on the details… 

The spark of inspiration came from re-watching an old video, one that I had used as inspiration for the walking cycle animation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLWy8ZgRPKE&t=312s The inspiration came from one of the final clips, the same clip used in the thumbnail of the video. A clip from Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Suddenly the ideas started flowing in my head and I began to settle on an idea, deciding that I would use this scene as a heavy inspiration for the opening scene for my trailer. 

The film centres around a future where aliens live among us and are outcast in society. It follows the life of a young alien pretending to be a human and his struggles after being discovered as an alien. The trailer will show the scene of him being discovered and I believe this will show a nice glimpse into the movie. I’m yet to come up with a title for the film but I’m sure that will come in time. For now, I’m just glad to have an idea to get me started!
