Portfolio of Work
This sculpt is of an original Warcraft inspired Orc I’ve designed named Drogath. He grew up in the Frostwolf clan and took part in their coming of age combat ceremonies. He has deep scars from wounds received in battle when he was still a child.
This sculpt is designed to be a 3D printable model, and was chosen both a technical challenge and a chance to push my skills in anatomy, character design, and detailed sculpting. Drogath’s design is inspired by World of Warcraft’s aesthetic and in-game NPCs. Every element of this model has been made from scratch, including the fur, hair, and many of the texture brushes used during the sculpting process.
Leona Lionheart is an original DnD character I created many years ago, and have since adapted across a number of different types of media. She is a strong female character, born to a family of smith’s. She used her learnt skills in smithing to forge her own armour and now sets out as a lone adventurer with the intent to join The Golden Lions, a paladin order.
Here you can see a game-ready 3D character, complete with a custom rig made in Maya, and four unique character animations, also created in Maya. These pieces were completed during my second year of University and is the first game ready character I have made.
For one of my final year assignments I created a number of VFX sequences inspired by Avatar: Legend of Korra, and Avatar: The Last Air Bender.
I created an original character for this sequence, an Avatar from the Earth nation. I created this character in ZBrush and Maya, textured it in Substance Painter, then rigged and animated it in Unreal Engine.
Each of the VFX assets were first concepted in Procreate and then executed in Unreal. Any Meshes or PNG’s used in the effects are original content created in Maya or Photoshop.
Geirskögul is my original character based on the Norse legends surrounding Valkyries. This was created initially for the Grads in Games Search for a Star competition. Since I could not finish it in time, I will continue to work on this as a passion project.
To challenge myself artistically I chose an androgynous body style for my Valkyrie. I like the idea that Valkyries can epitomize both feminine beauty and masculine strength, flying into battle with weapons and shields to rescue and carry the souls of the fallen.
This sculpt is of a Warcraft inspired Orc, named Drogath. It was created from the ground up in ZBrush and Maya as both a technical challenge and a chance to push my skills in anatomy, character design, and detailed sculpting. Drawing inspiration from World of Warcraft’s aesthetic, I designed Drogath’s anatomy based closely on in-game character and NPC Orc models. I used existing Warcraft NPC’s as reference when developing the armour and accessories, and carefully detailed each element to look battle-worn. Drogath is intended to look particularly battle-scarred due to injuries he received in childhood growing up in the Frostwolf clan and taking part in their coming of age combat ceremonies.
